The developers seem to be doing their best to make The Evil Within 2 better than its predecessor in all aspects, so for example, the progression system has been thoroughly revamped. Of course, this is only a part of the process, because the devs have now admitted that players will be getting much more freedom than in the first part.
There will be no places where they directly force us to fight or sneak, we can decide how we want to fulfill each chapter. All this is accompanied by a firm background story. In fact, according to the developers, the second half of The Evil Within 2 will be the most interesting, so it is suggested that we do not give up on the game because of the difficulty.
The Evil Within 2 will have three difficulty settings and it is probably a good idea to focus on easy mode if we want to see the story unfold. The second part will have a huge emphasis on the story aspect, which will hopefully add a lot to the whole gameplay experience.
