Over 25 Million People Played Apex Legends
Apex Legends is handsdown the best battle royale game out there, so the fact that over 25 million people played it isn’t all that surprising.
Apex Legends is a game that you get by combining elements of PUBG, Overwatch, and the Blackout mode from Black Ops 4, throwing in some incredibly intuitive UI, a free-to-play model, and immense polish. The end result? A game that over 25 million people played since it released, which is a week ago! How else do you get these numbers other than creating an addictive, fun, balanced, and amazing battle royale experience that you won’t find anywhere on the market. Has the Fortnite killer finally arrived? It sure looks that way.
We talked about the game when it broke 10 million players, so naturally, we wanted to cover the fact that 15 million more played it after that. What did the people from Respawn have to say about this? They were pretty happy:
We’re also thrilled to announce that since last Monday, more than 25 million players have jumped into the game, and over the weekend we had well over 2 million concurrent players at our peak. Like I said earlier, what a week!
From everyone here at Respawn, thank you. The community’s excitement for Apex Legends is electric, and we feel it here at the studio. We couldn’t have gotten where we are without you and look forward to having you on this journey with us.
These numbers will only go up with time, and let’s just hope that Respawn manages to throw more amazing content and just keeps up this momentum they’ve built up.
The Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge is taking place today and on February 19th. Valentine’s Day loot is coming, and Season One is starting in March, which is bringing new Legends, new weapons, new loot, the Battle Pass, and much more.
This is probably the only battle royale game that has us genuanely hyped up and interested about it’s future. It’s sad that Titanfall 3 had to die in order for this game to be born, but this is just the game that the battle royale genre needed.
Are you one of the people that played Apex Legends? If not, what are you waiting for, why aren’t you playing this game right now?
