Blacklight: Retrobution Closes Its Doors For Good In March
Blacklight: Retribution, a free-to-play FPS with mech suits and fast-paced combat is shutting down in March.
Blacklight: Retribution was a pretty fun semi-futuristic shooter that gave you both mech suits and the ability to occasionally see through walls. We played it quite a bit back in the day, but a really anti-F2P progression system made us lose our love for it. Basically, using the currency that you earn in-game to buy anything was downright awful. Everything was too expensive, while the premium currency allowed you to stock up on weapons and gadgets relatively easily.
These days you have games like Fortnite, Black Ops 4, PUBG, and the newely released Apex Legends on the FPS market, so naturally, a game like this can’t survive.
Blacklight: Retribution was a fun and simple game, and it’s always sad to see a game that’s been out for 7 years go. But, the video game industry is like the jungle, it’s eat or be eaten, and this free-to-play shooter just couldn’t become a predator no matter how hard it tried. The devs unlocked everything on the PC Store, so you can go and try the game and all that it has to offer.
The servers are officially shutting down on March 11th, and that’s when support ends as well. You have an entire month in front of you to give Blacklight: Retribution a chance. Why not, there’s nothing to lose, and this is your one last chance to give it a go.
Will you give the game a shot, or are you already swept up by Apex Legends and how awesome it is?
