The Division was very interesting title to come out of Ubisoft, and while it was unique in its own right, and it definitely did well in terms of sales, there were a lot of things wrong with the game. It was very glitchy, early parts of the game didn’t have as much content as it should have, and the storyline was rather unsatisfying. However, Ubisoft did do some amazing add-ons, and to that end, they’re putting all their experience with the game into making The Division 2.
This sequel is said to fix all the problems that the first one had. From the bugs, the ending to the storyline, and content. The ESRB has released their official rating for the game, and it highlights many of the same features as the original:
“This is a tactical third-person shooter in which players assume the role of an elite government agent battling hostile factions in a fictionalized Washington D.C. Players use machine guns, sniper rifles, and explosives to kill waves of enemy soldiers/thugs in frenetic combat. Firefights are highlighted by realistic gunfire, cries of pain, and blood-splatter effects. Cutscenes depict instances of intense violence: characters shot in the head at close range; a restrained character struck repeatedly with a hammer (mostly off screen). A fictional drug called Spice is prevalent in the game, as well as other drug references: bags of Spice, drug labs, drug-making paraphernalia depicted; the words ‘Drug Kitchen’ written on some walls. The words ‘f**k,’ ‘sh*t,’ and ‘a*shole’ appear in the dialogue.”
So yeah, it’s in line with what the original was, but obviously with a few changes. It’s going to be very interesting to see how The Division 2 does in terms of sales in its first week, but we won’t have long to wait to find out as the game arrives on March 15th.
