Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Is Coming Exclusively To Switch
As is the nature of shows like The Game Awards, there are always going to be rumors about what is coming. In fact, many of the rumors that were spread about The Game Awards were actually untrue. But then, one rumor that came rather late turned out to be quite true. Marvel Ultimate Alliance was coming back. But what no one saw coming was that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 was not only announced, but it is going to be coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is bringing back the beloved action-RPG genre that started out on the PS2 and subsequent systems. But this time, it’s bringing in even more bad guys, even more heroes, and even more awesomeness.
“As longtime fans of the franchise, we could not be prouder and more excited to bring back ULTIMATE ALLIANCE with its biggest game yet,” said Mike Jones, Vice President & Executive Producer, Marvel Games. “MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE is all about teaming up with your friends and creating your own ‘dream team’ of Super Heroes to go on adventures across the Marvel Universe, and Nintendo Switch is perfect for delivering on that promise of cooperative gameplay and shared experiences.”
The timing of said game is rather perfect, for the Marvel Universe in the movies is now coming together via the Disney/Fox deal, so pretty much every Marvel property is going to be in the movies again. Which means that Marvel has no reason to hold back characters like they did in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. What’s more, having the Black Order and Thanos be the villains are perfect because Avengers Infinity War was a major hit, and Avengers Endgame is now on the way.
“The MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE games have been beloved by fans for more than a decade, and this new installment on Nintendo Switch will deliver even more of the thrills and heroics that the franchise is known for,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Thanks to our partnership with Marvel, the fate of the Marvel Universe will literally be in the hands of Nintendo Switch players, whether they’re at home or on the go.”
The game is scheduled to release in 2019.
