Mike Laidlaw Joined Forces With Ubisoft
The creative director and also lead designer famous for his work on the Dragon Age series, Mike Laidlaw, has partnered up with Ubisoft Quebec.
It seems we have quite a bit of news that is in some way or another connected to Dragon Age. That makes us extremely happy, but this time the news centers on Mike Laidlaw, a brilliant creative director and lead designer. He is most known for his impeccable work on games such as Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Inquisition, the latest title in the franchise. Mike is a Lead Designer that has a knack for RPGs, and that’s why we are eager to find out what game he’s working on at Ubisoft Quebec.
We all know that the Assassin’s Creed franchise started going into the RPG direction, which can obviously be seen in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Maybe Mike came to Ubisoft Quebec to help them with the RPG side of things. He also did some work for The Waylanders RPG, another game that we talked about before, and a title that was inspired by the Dragon Age titles.
Is he working on another Assassin’s Creed game with RPG elements, or something new completely? We don’t know, and no one does at the moment, but we’re glad that Mike was so charmed by the team that he’s working with and Quebec City, so much so that he moved there.
This is an unusual partnership, but everyone is excited to see what exciting game it will produce.
