Black Ops 4 To Not Add New Maps To Blackout?
When Call of Duty Black Ops 4 announced that they weren’t going to have a singleplayer mode, many players were taken aback, as the series had always had it. Then, when Activision and Treyarch revealed that they were going to have in its place a Battle Royale style mode called Blackout, people were both intrigued and confused. But, for whatever minor faults the game mode has, people really seem to be enjoying it. Although, there is one aspect to which players really wish would be changed.
Mainly, Blackout only has one map. Period. While this isn’t the worst thing in the world given how Battle Royale titles work, it would be nice to get some variety every once in a while. So, some gamers went to Twitter to ask Black Ops 4’s director David Vonderhaar about the maps situation, and he noted:
We are on record as saying that we are more intrested in adding/subtracting and morphing this map then making new maps (at this time, subject to change, #disclaimer)
So while Activision and Treyarch aren’t necessarily denying that new maps will come, they’re more focused on making one map that is good all the way around for the title. A noble goal, but one that is going to anger some fans a little.
Now, as for when these changes are going to happen, he had an answer for that too:
I am not allow to say, but it *is* happening. I’ve played it.
It’s in the works then, that’s good news, and it could mean that we are really close to seeing it implemented into the game. Especially when you consider that Treyarch has been busting out patches and updates every week since the launch of the game back in October. But, only time will tell when the maps in Blackout will evolve and grow.
