Cyberpunk 2077’s Main City Hasn’t Been Measured Yet
CD Projekt Red is known for making rather large titles. Their biggest one so far was of course The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which had not only a massive main game, but several massive expansions that allowed players to do even more, explore more, and so much more. Now, their focus is on Cyberpunk 2077, which is set to be their biggest game by far, but that begs the question…how big is “big”?
I don’t speak only of content, but rather, the size of their actual city. For CD Projekt Red confirmed that the game would be taking place in Night City, and would only be there. That being said, the entirety of Night City would be there for you to explore. The City has massive districts, all unique compared to one another, and you’ll be able to figure out just how much there is to do there. But how big is Night City itself?
Well, the true answer is that no one knows, for in a conversation with a gamer on Facebook, CD Projekt Red admitted that their game hasn’t been measured in terms of physical size of Night City:
“Night City holds six districts, but I can’t give you an exact number in square meters because no one [has] counted this yet,” writes the rep. “Also, this is tricky for an urban environment — Night City has lots of buildings and these buildings have floors. You can have 120 square meters of space technically up 60m2 of space. In a tall building, and we will have many of them explorable, each floor can house a of activities. Floors stack. The Witcher 3 was, in a way, much flatter — thee activites were scattered. Here, the world can be huge, but it can be huge upwards, or downwards.”
This proves that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be massive no matter what context you put it in.
