Electronic Arts has announced today that WNBA teams and players will be included in NBA LIVE 18, which is scheduled to launch this Autumn on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. They will be available in WNBA Play Now, with teams and players being balanced to reflect the league and players’ unique style of play.
This marks the first time that the official WNBA’s roster will appear in a video game, and will be available exclusively in NBA LIVE 18. Sean O’Brien, executive producer of NBA LIVE, stated: “We are extremely proud to partner with the WNBA and the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) on this groundbreaking occasion,” he said. “ “The WNBA is home to some of the most incredible athletes on the planet, and we’ve been working hard to integrate them into our game in an authentic and meaningful way.”
The NBA LIVE 18 team has gone the extra mile, by conducting head scans of stars from the sport such as Maya Moore, Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi, Tina Charles, Sylvia Fowles, Alisha Gray, Chelsea Gray, Jonquel Jones and Alyssa Thomas, who had motion capture sessions with Kelsey Plum, the first overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft.
NBA LIVE 18 launches this Autumn, where fans are set to experience the only place to play in the WNBA.
