Overwatch Season 13 Has Gone Live
Despite it launching over two years ago, Overwatch continues to remain one of the most popular games in the world. Part of which is because of the very successful eSports league that started this year and brought even more eyes onto the title. Plus, Blizzard has been updating the game a lot between balance and content releases. With BlizzCon coming soon, more announcements are expected. But now, players have something else to look forward to, Season 13 of Competitive Play.
This mode puts the skills of players to the test, and is only accessible to those who are level 25 and up. It’s a mode that is for true fighters who want to make themselves stronger. Speaking of which, Blizzard offered some guidance on what’s going to happen in the season:
“Before you can kick off your competitive career, every player must first complete 10 placement matches to obtain their initial skill rating,” the latest blog post from the company stated. “This rating will be a number between 1 and 5000, with higher values indicating a greater skill level. Players will also be assigned a tier based on their rating—Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, or Grandmaster—and climbing into the next tier is possible as you improve.”
Not to mention, you’ll get rewards if you do well, so you’ll definitely want to fight with all you have. But, Season 13 doesn’t just have the basics, it also has a new mode: Competitive Team Deathmatch:
- Lock and load as your favorite dueling heroes in our newest Competitive Play mode: Team Deathmatch! This 4v4 format pits players against each other in a battle for survival—first team to 30 points wins the match. Group up with your friends or get matched with similarly-skilled players to climb tiers and earn rewards. The three-week season is already underway so be sure to play before time runs out!
