Sea Of Thieves Forsaken Shores Content Has Been Delayed
Sea of Thieves was an ambitious title when Rare announced it last year, and though it launched to big sales this year, it wasn’t without its issues. Mainly, it had a content issue, as in a lack of content for players to enjoy. Still, the team at Rare have been working hard to ensure that the game is as robust as they feel it should be, and to that end, they have made loads of DLC content. However, the newest DLC, Forsaken Shores, has been pushed back to next week.
According to their blog, they found an issue that would cause the DLC to not work in the way they want to. As Founder Joe Neate states:
“Our priority is to ensure we deliver a stable, polished and bug-free experience that all our players can enjoy. We have just had a weekend of Pioneer testing, which has highlighted a memory issue in the build, which is resulting in an unstable build where a large number of our Pioneers were experiencing crashes. From our investigations this is a complex issue that we are working through solving, but as such we do not feel in a position to release Forsaken Shores to our players with confidence this week.”
He goes on:
“Our goal this week is to resolve the memory issue and get enough Pioneer coverage so that we are confident we have resolved the issue, prior to releasing to all of our players. As such, we are moving the release of Forsaken Shores to Thursday 27th September. This will give us time to implement fixes, test, and get builds out to Pioneers to gain confidence.”
While it is a bummer that the Sea of Thieves content is coming out on its intended date, gamers should be thrilled that they are not having to deal with an unstable build upon launch, and instead will get a much better one on release.
