Hollow Knight DLC Now Named Godmaster
Since its launch last year, Hollow Knight has been praised as one of the best indie games ever released, or at the very least released in the last several years. Its beautiful world, deep lore, and tight gameplay have made it a favorite amongst indie gamers. So much so that when it launched on the Nintendo Switch a year after its worldwide launch, it still sold 250,000 copies in just two weeks. And now, it’s getting ready to set off on a new adventure via some DLC, which has now gotten a bit of a change.
This was revealed on the teams website where they noted the following via a blog post:
Small update to let you know of a last-minute development. As of today, Hollow Knight’s upcoming Free Content Pack is getting a snazzy new name. Formerly Hollow Knight: G*ds & Gl*ry, Free Content Pack 4 will forever-more be known as: Hollow Knight: Godmaster
That’s right! We’ve upgraded the name to be bigger and better than ever! The Free Content Pack still features the exact same content, and is still releasing for players on Nintendo Switch, Windows, Mac & Linux on August 23rd.
While it’s not uncommon for a game or DLC title to change names at times, the reasoning for this one is a bit more…legal.
So why the 11th hour change? Well not only is the new name 100 times cooler, more distinct, more ‘Hollow Knight’, it also doesn’t conflict with the title of a certain mobile game, made by a very large, very powerful video game company! It’s a win win all-round! Now, let’s all take a moment to enjoy this stylish upgrade.
If you don’t know, there’s a mobile game out there called Gods & Glory, and you could see the issue they might have with the Hollow Knight team for naming their DLC that. But, with the change, they’re now in the clear and the content can be released no issue.
