Tekken 7 was by and large one of the best fighting games to not just come out last year, but it ranks up against some of the best in recent memory. The detail that was put into the fighting game from top to bottom was well beyond what most fighting titles would do. And with its Season Pass, they brought in some very interesting characters, including Noctis from Final Fantasy XV, and Geese Howard from King of Fighters. But, at EVO 2018, Bandai Namco revealed three of the Season 02 characters via a trailer, and one is one you’d never expect to see in the game.
First, the return of Anna Williams was shown, who is a long-time member of the franchise. They also showed the return of Wei Luwong, complete with tiger. But as they were laying out the mystery reveals, they focused on a rather bloody column.
And then we heard the whistle…and then we saw the outfit…and then we saw…Negan.
Negan, of course, is one of the most famous bad guys ever in the Walking Dead comic and TV series. And in the TV series, his arrival led to one of the most brutal episodes in the history of the show.
What’s interesting here isn’t just that he’s in the game, but that Bandai Namco seems to be modeling him after the version of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, which plays him in the TV show. They even used some of his voice lines from The Walking Dead to help sell that. So most likely, he’ll be voice Negan in Tekken 7.

“With Season 2 of the Tekken 7 Season Pass, fighters such as Anna Williams, Lei Wulong and Negan from AMC’s The Walking Dead join the fight! Your eyes do not deceive you, your pounding heart does not betray you; Negan from AMC’s The Walking Dead is making his way into Tekken 7to deal a world of pain in the Tekken universe. Negan, beloved by fans of The Walking Dead for his charismatic yet sinister demeanor, is ready to destroy all challengers, regardless of their stature in the Tekken universe. As the personal bodyguard of Kazuya Mishima, Anna Williams is a beautiful and intelligent officer with deadly fighting skills, and serves to drive her sister Nina crazy! Lei Wulong makes his long awaited return to Tekken, sporting new digs and his deadly Tiger, Crane, Leopard, Snake, and Dragon styles!”
No word just yet on when these characters will arrive in the game.
