99% Of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Cheaters Are From China
Multiplayer games, specifically ones that use the internet to connect people from around the world, and mainly ones on PC, have a serious problem, cheaters. Cheaters are everywhere in the gaming world, and they’re actually quite the creative bunch. They use code, programs, and other things to make the game bend to their will and deliver an advantage. In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, this problem is very prevalent, and many wonder why developer Bluehole hasn’t been taking this more seriously. Well now, we have gotten a surprising statistic as to where most of these cheaters come from.
Now, when we say, “most”, we mean 99%. For Battleye, the anti-cheating program for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has revealed that the game has 99% of its cheaters coming from China. Think about that. Now, to be more specific, this 99% is of people who have been banned for cheating already. But still, basically, all of them coming from one country? That’s scary.
But according to Youxi Story, it gets even more interesting. The game recently crossed 30 million players, and apparently, 46% of the players, full-stop, come from China. We knew the Chinese presence in the game was massive, but nearly half? And think about this, China just released two different mobile games within the world of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, can you imagine how well those are going to do?
So, now the question is, why China? Why is it that China has so many cheaters? Well, it honestly has to do with the law. For in China, players aren’t punished as badly for cheating like this, whereas you can be punished for it in other countries, not unlike how Epic Games took kids to court for cheating in Fortnite.
This has led many players to state that a server should be made to house all Chinese players so that they play only themselves, and that the cheating would be restricted only to there. We’ll have to see if that happens.
