Metal Gear Survive is set to arrive in just a couple of days, but Konami wants to make sure the game is as good as it can be for launch, and so, a new beta has launched today for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This is the first time PC can join the beta, and so it’ll be a much bigger experience this go round. And even if you have played the game before, you can use the beta to help determine if you’ll get the full title when it releases on the 20th.
As for what’s in the beta, there are three main missions for you to complete. As well as two different stages that you can explore in the Wrecked Base and Deserted Mine. Then, once you’re done with that, you can hop into the Co-Op mode and test that out for yourself. The beta will be going on until the 18th.
The story behind Metal Gear Survive is an interesting one both in-game and out. Within the game, the story is that you play as a soldier who served under Big Boss during the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. However, when you and your fellow soldiers are left behind on a mission, you get sucked into a wormhole and transported into another universe. One where there are monsters, and they are out to get you.
Your new mission is to survive at all costs. You’ll roam around the world and search for weapons and gear to defend both yourself and your new base. Furthermore, you’ll want to find new compatriots so that you can mount better defenses against the virulent and unrelenting foes.
Behind-the-scenes, this is the first Metal Gear game since the firing of Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. And many are interested to see how the game does sales wise.
