1 Million Cheaters Banned From PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds In January
When people go into competition, they ask for only a few things. They want a good competition, they want to have fun as they do it, they want to go for a win, and arguably most important, they want to know the game is fair. For cheating sucks, and no one likes it when it happens to them. In video games, developers fight hard to try and prevent cheating from happening in their titles. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been fighting a war to prevent cheating, and it was huge in January.
For according to BattleEye, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds banned over 1 million players in January of 2018. That’s right, one month resulted in a million plus bans. That’s impressive. Or is it? For in that tweet, they said:
“We have banned over 1,044,000 PUBG cheaters in January alone, unfortunately things continue to escalate.”
Pretty grim, huh? Well, it’s honestly the truth, as the game continues to struggle with cheaters from around the world.
This isn’t the first time that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been documented for its cheating and bans. There were points last year where the game banned hundreds of thousands of players in a single weekend. In fact, that’s part of the problem, for when developer Bluehole bans a player, they’re only banning the account, which means that the player can just make a new account and try again.
Players (non-cheating players) want change in that regard. They want it to be more strict in that the IP Address (or another identifier of the person) is banned permanently and thus they can’t play the game again.
Also, fans have been asking for a region lock against China, as the gamers in that nation are apparently more cheat-prone than anyone else (due to the countries laws against cheating).
What Bluehole does next will definitely affect the future of the game.
[…] honestly one of the biggest games that has the biggest amount of cheaters. Just in the last month they’ve banned 1 million players for cheating, and that doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon. Now, developer Bluehole revealed that the […]
